Throughout 2016, we raised a massive £5,420 for various charities close to the hearts of members of our team. Not to be beaten, ‘Arthur’s Angels’ set out to help us smash that target – taking on the ‘pretty muddy’ 5k race for life at the Downs to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Suitably muddy, Arthurs Angels did a super job, raising £650 for cancer research! Find out more about the fantastic team and how they got on with the 5k run.
Arthur’s Angels is a crack team made up of 10 runners from different departments of Arthur David. Here they are below, muddy from the 5k run which included obstacles such as a muddy water pit and tricky A-frame.
Pretty Muddy is a series of runs taking place up and down the country to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The runs feature several muddy obstacles to climb over, crawl under and charge through.
The races are non-competitive and can be walked, jogged or run on your own, with your friends or as a group; you can view a selection of photos from last year’s events here.
The Bristol pretty muddy 5k run took place on the Downs, giving runners the chance to take in the views of the Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge whilst tackling the various obstacles throughout the course.
Hundreds of supporters turned up to watch and cheer on the runners as they took on the muddy course; creating a wonderful atmosphere at the Downs.
Cancer Research UK is a well-known cancer research and awareness charity, almost entirely funded by public donations. Donations go towards vital research to help beat cancer sooner, support for those suffering and developing policy to inform Government decisions related to cancer research.
Huge congratulations to all the runners that took part this year and raised a fantastic amount for a great charity; we look forward to seeing the team with more new faces out again next year!
