Arthur David are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance Manager to lead and maintain our compliance with the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution, while also coordinating Health & Safety and managing our dedicated Technical Team.

Daily Tasks:

  • Maintain and continuously improve compliance with the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.
  • Lead and manage preparation for BRC audits, customer audits, and third-party inspections, ensuring the site always remains audit ready.
  • Handle non-conformances with thorough root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Oversee document control systems and ensure that all policies, procedures, and records align with BRC and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure full traceability and that all product safety and legality requirements are consistently met throughout the site’s storage and distribution operations.
  • Technical Team Leadership
  • Manage, support, and develop the technical compliance team, ensuring daily operations align with site-wide quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and drive continuous professional development.
  • Encourage a strong culture of compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the site Health & Safety Coordinator, working in close partnership with external H&S consultants to implement and maintain safe systems of work.
  • Support site-wide risk assessments, incident investigations, and drive safety improvements.
  • Ensure H&S documentation, registers, and records are complete, current, and accessible.

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a Compliance, Technical, or Quality Management role within a BRC Storage & Distribution-certified environment (preferably within foodservice, logistics, or warehousing).
  • Solid working knowledge of BRC Storage & Distribution standards, HACCP, and applicable food safety legislation.
  • Experience leading or supervising technical or QA teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety coordination, ideally including work with external consultants or advisors.
  • Excellent attention to detail, audit readiness, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Prior experience in supplier quality assurance with the ability to quickly learn new categories.

Experience:

  • HACCP Level 3 (Level 4 preferred)
  • TACCP/VACCP Trained
  • BRC Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate (or working towards, with consultant support)
  • Food Safety Level 3 (Level 4 preferred)
  • BRC Storage & Distribution Understanding / Implementation training preferred
