Daily Tasks:

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently.
• Oversee day-to-day day picking operation.
• Take full responsibility for the care, upkeep, and presentation of the warehouse buildings, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety, fire safety, and security regulations, conducting regular checks and risk assessments.
• Implement and monitor safe working practices, providing training and guidance to staff where required.
• Manage warehouse and pick room staff, including scheduling, supervision, and performance reviews.
• Oversee stock control and inventory accuracy, implementing robust systems to reduce loss, waste, and errors.
• Maintain and optimise warehouse management systems, ensuring smooth functionality and accuracy of all data.
• Monitor operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and cost control.
• Act as the main point of contact for building-related issues, including contractors, inspections, and facility management.
• Take full responsibility for ensuring the site meets BRC standards across all areas, maintaining all necessary documentation and compliance requirements.

Requirements/Experience:

• Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and logistics.
• Experience in maintaining and improving warehouse management systems.
• In-depth understanding of health & safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
• IT literate with experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Relevant qualifications in logistics, warehouse management, or health & safety (e.g., IOSH).
• Experience in implementing and maintaining operational practices that ensure ongoing compliance with BRC standards.
