Our Community
As you can tell, our community of customers, suppliers and colleagues is hugely important to us – but it doesn’t stop there!
Our Two Core Charities
Community of Purpose and The Pony Farm Bus are two organisations that are particularly close to us. We are proud to support the incredible work they do to provide opportunities, support and education to children and families across our local communities, and to contribute to the positive impact they make every day.
Community of Purpose
We have proudly supported Community of Purpose (COP) for over a decade, helping to make a real difference to children and families across Bristol. Through our support of their ‘Break Free’ programme, children who might otherwise miss out are provided with nutritious food, engaging activities and a safe, supportive environment. Our funding has helped provide 5,385 pieces of fruit and contributed towards 3,590 hot meals. In addition to financial support, many of our staff generously volunteer their time, attending sessions and helping to supervise activities, ensuring that local children can enjoy enriching experiences and opportunities throughout the year.
The Pony Farm Bus
The Pony Chew Valley, run by Josh and Holly Eggleton, created a fun, mobile food education bus to bring the experience of growing, cooking, and eating food directly to communities and schools across the South West that may struggle to access it, particularly in deprived areas near Bristol. The bus is equipped with cooking stations and growing spaces like hydroponics, a greenhouse, and mushroom cultivation, and works in line with the UK Food Education Charter while tailoring visits to each school’s needs. We have helped with fundraising & events!

This year, Arthur David are again the Headline Sponsor for this year’s Tour de Bristol, as part of our commitment to supporting local communities. We also do an annual Christmas Tree Collection and on average £20,000+ is raised with over 1100 trees to collect – customers place donations for collection & the trees are taken to Noahs Ark Zoo for the animal enclosures. Volunteers from Arthur David drive & collect the trees. We also have staff who volunteer for Gardening at the hospice!
We are donating & supporting the Squarefood Foundation through the ‘Big Give Campaign’! Our donations will help SFF to provide vital food support to people facing food insecurity across South Bristol. The funding will directly support the sourcing & distribution of nutritious food, enabling SFF to reach more individuals and families who need help most. In addition, the donation helps strengthen SFF’s wider support services, to support people in making healthier choices with what they cook and eat!
The Maxi Project supports young people’s mental health through food. Mαζί means “together” in Greek, reflecting the charity’s vision of creating a city where everyone has access to fresh and sustainable food. To date, The Maxi Project has supported more than 350 vulnerable young people across Bristol and built a community of over 100 volunteers. Since July 2024, the produce donated for fundraising events has helped the charity provide 1,002 meals, and this year even more volunteers will be joining their efforts.
Arthur David is proud to support One Community Trust, a local organisation providing free, nutritious two‑course lunches every month to people of all ages in the Keynsham community. The lunches are open to everyone — no questions, no criteria, no agenda — offering a welcoming space for those facing the rising cost of living, loneliness, anxiety, or vulnerability. Arthur David’s monthly donation of fresh vegetables, ingredients, and foodstuffs has been described by One Community Trust as a “game changer.” Our support ensures the team can continue offering high‑quality, nutritious meals without financial strain.

Some of our activities are strategic and planned, sometimes we just do what feels right at the time.
