We are seeking an individual to procure quality products throughout the various seasons and ensure that the Business is able to maintain profitable GP%, whilst ensuring stability within our various price files. Daily Tasks:

  • Responsible for supporting target GP% within your allocated categories
  • Assist Fresh Procurement & Intake manager with BRC paperwork
  • Responsible for dealing with the customer complaints log, error log & incident log based on your product categories
  • Liaise with other members of the procurement team to assess buying requirements
  • Use ISSAC and Excel to produce the daily buying requirements list
  • Transfer produce between depots on ISSAC system, where required
  • Procure fresh produce from both the wholesale fruit centre and direct suppliers where required
  • Source “Special produce lines” to offer our customers via telesales
  • Work with Customer Excellence and other departments to create daily offers.
  • Book in daily invoices from suppliers on to the ISSAC system, ensuring zero errors
  • Provide values and cost information to the pricing manager on a regular basis
  • Produce a daily update and inform other departments on market conditions
  • Create purchase orders in ISSAC
  • Responsible for dealing with investigations in to invoice queries and negotiate credits with suppliers
  • Be able to have difficult conversations as soon as appropriate and as compassionately & respectfully as possible
  • Report delivery anomalies and rejections to suppliers, ensuring that supplier performance is monitored on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for ensuring rejections and anomalies are dealt with in a timely manner, ensuring no financial consequences
  • Liaise with the production department to fulfil their produce requirements
  • Attend Farm depot on a weekly basis to support with quality checking/stock count of items
  • Undertake any other duties considered by the company to be within the buyer’s remit
  • Provide absence cover within the Fresh Procurement department, including the night role should there be unforeseen circumstances
  • Provide focus sheets to Fresh Procurement & Intake manager in advance of 121
  • There may be a business need for you to carry out other duties within the business that are within your skill set; this could include change of working hours, change of working location etc. Ensure that the quality, safety and legalities of all products are adhered to in relation to temperature control and maintenance of the chill chain

Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience of working with fresh produce
  • Experience of working with BRC accreditation or similar
  • Experience of working within a supply chain environment

Experience:

  • Procurement: 1 year (required)
