What does this mean?

It's March, also known as National Nutrition Month, which has been ongoing for 4 and a half decades! National Nutrition Month is a great time to raise awareness about the importance of including the correct nutrition's in your diet in your day-to-day life. Eating healthily is just as important for your mental health as it is for your physical health, and it has been proved that healthy eating can reduce the risk of depression and improve your mood!

Where can I get nutrition from?

Nutrients are typically split into five sectors: Protein, Water, Carbohydrates, Minerals & Vitamins. Nutrition can be found in so many food products, with fruit & vegetables being the most nutritious food group! Avocados, berries, carrots and leafy greens are amazing sources of nutrition and luckily can be incorporated in an endless variety of meals so are always easy to include in your diet! You can also get a great amount of nutrition from nuts & seeds, these are packed with the essential nutrients such as protein, fibre, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. If your not a fan of any of those, you can still get nutrition from eggs, yoghurt, potatoes, salmon and lot's of other foods, so there are no excuses to not be getting the right nutrition in your bodies!

Healthy eating

Eating healthily is so important for both our physical and mental health. Nutrition is required for you to have a healthy gut and be physically healthy, there is a proven link that if you're healthy in those areas, you are more likely to have better mental health too! By sticking to a diet of nutrient heavy foods, you will be setting yourself up for fewer mood swings and an improved ability to focus, what a win! Healthy eating has always been popular, but even more so recently with people wanting to prioritise their health when cooking meals, as well as when eating at restaurants/cafes. So if you aren't offering a variety of nutritious meals on your menus, why not!?
