From Coffee Grounds to Kitchen Pass: A New Kind of Mushroom

We're proud to be launching a new range of locally grown mushrooms from Bristol-based producer, Simply Grow.

Already known for their high-quality micro herbs, Simply Grow have spent the last five years building a reputations for consistency, freshness and working closely with chefs. Now, they're bringing that same approach to a brand new mushroom venture - and it's one worth paying attention to.

Grown differently, for a reason

These mushrooms are grown on recycled coffee grounds, collected locally. It's a more sustainable way of producing, but more importantly, it creates a nutrient-rich growing environment that delivers a better product to the kitchen.

  • Deeper, more savoury flavours
  • A firmer, more "meaty" texture
  • Consistent performance in service

Built for real kitchens

Everything about this range has been designed with service in mind.

  • Reliable consistency - product you can trust!
  • Strong shelf life - thanks to smart, recyclable packaging.
  • Ready to use - minimal prep.

What's in the range?

A mixed punnet of oyster mushrooms:

  • Grey
  • Pink
  • King
  • Yellow

How chefs are using them

These aren't just a garnish, they can carry a dish! Think:

  • Butter-fried with garlic and herbs on toast or sourdough
  • Tossed through pasta or risotto for depth and texture
  • As a plant-led centrepiece with strong sauces or spice
  • Crispy fried for small plates or sharing dishes

A partnership we're proud of

We've worked closely with Simply Grow as they've developed this new range, supporting them as a local producer and helping bring it to market. It's a relationship built on shared standards: quality, consistency, and doing things properly.
